UPMG 2011 Conference a Big Success!

On behalf of LG&E and KU Energy and the city of Louisville, I want to thank you for making the 80th Conference of the UPMG a huge success! This year's conference drew almost 400 utility supply chain professionals and suppliers to hear a variety of industry professionals discuss issues that we are all dealing with in our daily work, and the innovative ways in which these issues are being addressed. Many of the attendees experienced a UPMG conference for the first time and I hope that the Conference exceeded your expectations.

The attendance at this year’s conference is a testimony to the mission of the UPMG to be the preeminent utility industry forum for the sharing of information, ideas, concepts and best practices as they relate to the discipline of Supply Chain Management.

UPMG is a unique organization. It is operated and managed by Supply Chain professionals who, strategically, understand that an effective supply chain is a critical part of any successful corporation and who, personally, are interested in enhancing their professional development to ensure that on-going corporate contribution and personal success are being continuously realized.

As we say good-bye to Louisville and start to plan for the 2012 conference in Seattle, we will again rely on your enthusiastic support and participation in identifying topics and speakers that are relevant to our ever-changing industry.

We will use the survey information you provided throughout the Louisville conference to develop the Seattle program but I also encourage you to send your thoughts on other applicable topics and issues that become relevant.

Feel free to contact, at any time, the Officer group, any Executive Committee member, or any member of our Supplier Advisory Committee, or me directly, with your comments.

Thank you again for your interest and participation in UPMG and I look forward to seeing you again next year in Seattle, Washington.
