Links to the Past
The annual UPMG Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Presidio Golf Course.  Founded in 1895 by the private San Francisco Golf and Country Club, the original 9-hole Presidio Golf course was one of the earliest courses on the West Coast.  During the Spanish American War the course remained open, but was extensively used for training and drilling.  After the 1906 earthquake, a refugee camp was established there.  In 1910 the course was expanded to 18-holes.

Tee up with History
This treasure by the bay provides an opportunity for you to play in the footsteps of historic leaders including Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower.  The fairways roll and meander past menacing bunkers, beneath century old Eucalyptus and Monterey Pine trees, swayed by fresh ocean breezes from the Pacific Ocean.  You’ll catch an occasional view of brightly colored Victorians lining the hills of San Francisco, all while enjoying a beautiful and challenging course. Today, the newly-renovated course is operated by the Arnold Palmer Golf Management Group.

Fun for Charity
UPMG’s annual tournament benefits a local charity.  Over the last few years, the tournament has raised $40,000 for charity benefits including the food pantry of greater Boston, the ALS Foundation and in 2007 the American Heart Association in memory of past UPMG Officer, Craig McMahan.

Tournament fee includes:

  • Transfer between the San Francisco Marriott Hotel and the golf course
  • Greens Fee
  • Cart Fee
  • Professional Scoring
  • Driving Range
  • Continental Breakfast
  • Awards Luncheon
  • Bag Gratuity at the course

Registration for the tournament may be completed through the web-site registration link at the same time you register for the conference.  If you want to add golf after you have registered for the conference, contact Cathy at 816-532-4844.

Space is limited and will be assigned to those who register with full payment on a first-come basis.

The golf course required that UPMG Guarantee the tournament with a completely non-refundable payment at the time the course was booked in 2007.  For that reason, refunds will not be available for any reason after August 14, 2008.

The best way to assure who is in your foursome is to include your friends and customers and sponsor your own foursome.  Individual golfers will be paired with other individuals at random.

All golfers must be registered to attend the conference.

Tournament Fee is $250 with a $50 discount for those registered and paid prior to May 22, 2008.

Sponsorships: The tournament sponsorship fee is $7,000 (all of that amount goes to the charity).  Pin sponsorships are available for $600 each.  Sponsorships are limited and must be paid prior to publication dates of marketing and conference materials to be included in those print publications.
